(request) Child!JapanXChild!Reader: Forever

Your (e/c) eyes widened as you saw the enormous building in front of you and your little hand grabbed your daddy’s big hand. He looked down and smiled as he felt your firm grasp. There were some children running around, and you watched them as they smiled and screamed at each other. Would they be your friends?

‘It’s time for me to go, _____. Otherwise I’ll be late for work,’ your daddy said, crouching down so he could hug you. ‘You will be fine, make me proud, okay?’

You nodded and wrapped your arms around your daddy’s neck. He kissed the top of your head and left. The bell rang, and you grabbed your bag and clutched to your favorite plushie. You watched as the other children went into the school building. Were you supposed to go there, too? It was so confusing and you felt tears starting to blur your vision. How could your daddy leave you all alone here? You looked around and saw a boy standing near you. Was this his first day, just like today was your very first day at school? His black hair was being moved by the soft breeze that had appeared and he was staring at the building.

‘H-hi,’ you squeaked, walking over to him. ‘Is this your first day?’

He turned around and tilted his head slightly. He saw the tears in your eyes and heard your insecure voice. You glared at his brown eyes, and he glared back before nodding.

‘Yes, this is my first day,’ he said.

So you weren’t alone. That felt good, it made you feel a bit more secure now that you knew there was somebody else that was in the same situation.

‘Are you coming?’ a female voice suddenly called. You looked up to see a woman in front of you. She had brown hair, green eyes and glasses.

‘Is this your first day?’ she smiled at you and the boy. You both nodded hastily.

‘I’m your teacher, then,’ the woman said. ‘My name is miss Lenley. Follow me, please.’

You followed her into the building and then into a classroom. The classroom was already filled with fifteen other children, talking excitedly to each other. You stayed close to the boy and clutched to your plushie again.

‘You can put your bag over there,’ your teacher said, pointing at a plastic bin.

After you had put your bag into the said bin, you sat down next to the boy. You still didn’t know his name, but you liked him for some reason. He was very calm and his expression hadn’t changed at all. The lesson started, and you really enjoyed yourself. The teacher made everybody say their names and when you had told her your name, she made you count how many characters your name had. She wrote everything down on the chalkboard.

‘Well,’ she smiled when everybody’s name was written down. ‘It’s time for a break now. You can grab your bag and have a snack. After that, we’ll go outside to enjoy the sun!’

‘Hey, Kiku,’ you said to the boy whose name turned out to be Kiku. ‘Do you want to play with me?’

The boy looked at you and nodded. ‘Yes, that’d be nice.’

‘Do you want to play hide and seek?’ you asked, and he frowned.

‘Werr, I’d rather pray with the sand,’ he said.

‘Sure! That’s fine with me,’ you smirked, happy he wanted to play with you.

The two of you walked over to the sand and grabbed a few scoops. You started making a pile of sand and Kiku joined you. After a few minutes, a castle was starting to appear out of your pile and you grinned. This was actually fun! You were used to running around, hiding from your brother while playing hide and seek. Hide and seek was your favorite game, but this was actually kinda fun too!

Kiku started digging a canal around the castle and you joined him, throwing the sand over your shoulder. You were so occupied by the digging that you didn’t notice an angry voice behind you.

‘Stop doing that, you stupid girl,’ the voice squeaked. ‘The awesome me is getting dirty because of you!’

Kiku turned around, which woke you up from your trance. You saw one of your classmates standing behind you. His hair was white like snow and his irises red like blood. There was some sand in his hair and all over his clothing.

‘I’m sorry,’ you mumbled.

‘Yeah, you’d better be sorry!’ the boy called. You thought his name was Gilbert, but you weren’t entirely sure.

Gilbert’s eyebrows shot up when you didn’t reply and he walked over to your castle.

‘This is stupid,’ he said. ‘It isn’t awesome at all!’

You didn’t really care, you just wanted him to leave. So you and Kiku just stared at him, which made Gilbert uncomfortable. The albino kid glared at you, and then back to the castle. A smirk appeared on his face and he started kicking against your castle.

‘What are you doing!’ you called. ‘Stop that!’

But he didn’t stop. He jumped on top of your once so beautiful castle and kicked the sand all around. You tried to push him away, but he just pushed back which made you fall on the ground. Tears started to roll down your cheeks. How could he?

You glared at Kiku, who didn’t move. But then he saw your tears. He saw how sad you were, and decided that Gilbert had to stop.

‘Girbert, courd you prease go away?’ Kiku asked.

‘No!’ Gilbert laughed.

He continued laughing, until something hit his head. It was a lump of sand, thrown by Kiku. Gilbert stared at the Japanese boy, thinking of his next move. But suddenly, miss Lenley called that everybody had to gather by the door. Gilbert huffed at you and ran over to the teacher. Kiku got up, patted the sand of his clothing and looked at you. You were still a bit sad, but glad that Kiku had tried to scare the annoying albino away.

‘Are you coming, _____?’ he asked, smiling at you. You grabbed his hand, so he had to pull you up. But after he had done that, he immediately let go of you, not wanting you to invade his personal space. You didn’t mind, you were sure you and Kiku were going to be friends forever.

‘_____, hurry up!’ Kiku called.

‘I’m coming, I’m coming!’ you replied, although you were still staring at the bird in front of you. It was such a pretty bird! Miss Lenley had took you and your classmates to the zoo, and now it was time to go. But you were fascinated by this one bird.

‘_____, they’re armost reaving!’ Kiku appeared next to you, actually looking a bit agitated.

‘Fine, fine...’ you sighed, stepping back from the bird’s cage. ‘Let’s go then.’

Kiku nodded and turned around. ‘Eh, _____? Do you know which way we’ve got to go?’

‘Eh...’ you looked around, only to find out you you didn’t where to go. ‘No.’

‘Oh.’

‘Maybe that way!’ you pointed.

‘Ret’s try that,’ Kiku nodded. ‘It rooks famiriar.’

But when you went that way, you ended up not knowing where to go again. You started panicking, what if they left without you? What if you were stuck in here forever and nobody would find you? You were getting scared and grabbed Kiku’s hand. He didn’t really like it, but he didn’t pull back his hand either.

‘K-Kiku...’ you whispered. ‘I’m scared.’

‘We’rr be fine, _____,’ he smiled and you nodded. Yes, you were going to be fine.

This part of the zoo was a bit abandoned, they were developing a playground and it wasn’t really ready to be accessed yet. It was a bit creepy and you turned around quickly. But you were still lost, and there weren’t many people around anymore, because of the fact the zoo was closing in less than fifteen minutes. You were about to start crying again when Kiku pulled you into a hug. A hug? He had never done such thing before! Maybe it was because he was scared too, or because he saw how sad you were. You wrapped your arms around him, a smile appearing on your face. Kiku let go of you after a few seconds, a blush on his face.

'_____! Kiku!' you heard a familiar voice call. It was miss Lenley. 'There you are! I was so worried about you! Let's go, everybody is waiting.'

You nodded and pulled Kiku along, as you were still holding his hand. Miss Lenley apparently did know where to go, and you arrived at the bus without getting lost again. You sat down next to Kiku, who was looking a bit tired.

'I had fun today,' you told your friend.

'Me too,' he nodded.

'But I didn't like the getting lost part,' you continued. And Kiku agreed once again.

Miss Lenley made sure everybody was here now and the bus left.

'Hey Kiku,' you said as the bus left the parking lot. 'Will you be my best friend? I will be your best friend.'

Kiku looked at you, a smile appearing on his face. 'Of course I'rr be your best friend.'

'Great,' you grinned before yawning. The day had been fun, but it had also asked much of your energy. You were just a little child. As you started to fall asleep, you heard a soft voice next to you.

'I'rr be your best friend forever,' Kiku said.

With an agreeing nod, you fell asleep.
