(request) GermanyXStray dog!Reader: Family

You looked down at the sleeping puppies. Your puppies. They were born a couple of weeks ago, but two of them had already died. Nobody cared about you or your puppies, you were just another stray dog.

You walked away from your puppies, because you had to find something to eat. For yourself, but especially for your puppies. They were starving, just like you. But your instincts told you that you had to eat something so you could produce more milk for your little ones.

‘Veee...’

Your ears twitched as you heard the sound of humans. Humans meant food. You slowly got out of your alley and looked around. There they were, three humans. And they were eating something. It smelled good, so you sneaked up on them.

‘Veee...’ one of the humans said. He looked like he was the easiest one to steal from, so you got closer to him. He was eating something, a hot dog. You suddenly jumped up, grabbed his food with your teeth and ran away.

‘The dog! My food!’ the guy cried, pulling one of the other humans’ sleeve.

‘Feliciano, you’ve got to pay attention!’ the human told the other human.

‘B-but...’

‘It’s too bad, your food is gone now,’ the human growled, glaring at the alley where you had disappeared in. You were still looking at the humans, but you made sure they couldn’t see you. The humans turned around and you watched them leave while eating the human’s food.

Humans were weird creatures, but their food tasted good, that was what mattered. A desperate peep distracted you and you turned around, back to your puppies.

(~ Timeskip, veee! ~)

‘Look-a!’ a voice called. ‘It’s that dog again!’

Crap. They had recognized you. You had never thought you’d meet those humans again, and if you would, changes were slim they’d recognize you. But they did. You turned around immediately, running away from your puppies. If they’d find you and your puppies, they would take them! That would be terrible, so you hoped to distract them and keep them away.

‘Dog! Come back here!’ the same voice called, chasing you through the streets. Of course you didn’t return to them, you didn’t really like humans, especially men.

(~ Flashback, veee! ~)

’_____!’ a boy’s voice called. You turned around and ran back to your owner. He wrapped his arms around you and buried his face into your soft (f/c) fur. Your tried to escape from his grasp. Not because you didn’t like him, just because you were just a small puppy, eager to play. The boy grinned and grabbed a football.

‘Catch, _____!’ he called while throwing the football away. You turned around and chased the ball, your tongue sticking out of your mouth. The boy ran after you, laughing.

‘Woof!’ you called excitedly.

You grabbed the ball and turned around, looking at your owner. He was crossing the street you had crossed a few seconds ago. But a car appeared, out of nowhere.

‘Woof!’ you called, trying to warn him, but it was too late. The driver hit the brakes, but he couldn’t stop the car in time. You could only watch as the car hit your beloved owner.

(~ Timeskip, veee! ~)

‘_____...’ a shaggy voice mumbled. It was your owner’s father. You felt sorry for him, his wife had died a few months ago. He now had to take care of your owner and his brother. Due to his wife’s death, he had started drinking. A lot.

You knew he was blaming you for the accident that had happened. You owner was fine, he just had to stay in the hospital tonight because of his fractured leg. But the accident had shocked the man, he had just realised the lives of his sons were also very fragile.

‘_____, come here,’ the man told you, he was drunk again.

You hung your head as you obeyed. You knew you had to, it would only anger him if you didn’t. But he was already angry, so it didn’t really matter anyway.

‘_____, you have failed your duty,’ the man growled. You didn’t move.

‘You had to protect him,’ the man sobbed. ‘You had to make him happy...!’

If you were a human, you would have told him you were very sorry. But dogs don't talk, so you couldn’t reply. It seemed to anger the man, so he started hitting you. You crawled back, but he just grabbed your fur and pulled you back. He hit and kicked you again, making you peep and wriggle to get away.

He let go of you after a while, but you were hurt and bleeding a bit. He grabbed your fur and threw you outside the door.

‘Get out!’ he screamed. ‘I will find a better dog!’

(~ End of flashback, veee! ~)

‘Come back, little doggy!’

The human was still chasing you, but you weren’t going to give up.

‘Feliciano!’ another voice called. ‘Stop it!’

You turned your head. That voice sounded a bit familiar. But you didn’t really care, you just had to get away. Three humans were chasing you now: the noisy one, the strict one and the quiet one. You were getting away, but something suddenly appeared in your vision. A brick wall, you had hit a dead end. Crap.

‘Doggy!’ the noisy one called happily. You hid behind a trash can, trembling like mad.

‘Don’t be afraid!’ the human smiled, getting closer to you. ‘Don’t be -’

You growled at him and used your nails to hurt him, in which you succeeded. The human cried and turned around.

‘L-Ludwig,’ he cried. ‘The doggy hurt me!’

Wait a second. The human’s name, it really sounded familiar! You peeked around the trashcan and stared at the man. His blue eyes, his blonde hair... Could it be true? You slowly walked up to the human, ignoring the other two.

‘W-woof?’ you said.

The human looked down and his eyes widened as he recognized you. His lost puppy. He blinked a couple of times before kneeling down and slowly laid his hand on your head.

‘_-_____...’ he whispered. ‘Is that you?’

‘Woof,’ you said, looking up at your beloved owner.

‘Do you know the dog, Ludwig?’ the quiet human asked.

‘Ja...’ Ludwig answered. ‘She was my first dog... I lost her after... something.’

‘I see.’

‘_____? Will you come home with me?’ your owner asked.

You really wanted to go with him. You really wanted, but you had to take care of your puppies. So instead of joining your owner, you walked away from him.

‘_____?’

‘Woof,’ you said, asking them to follow you, which they did. Humans were weird, but they weren’t stupid. The smell of your puppies led you to your hideout.

‘Puppies!’ the noisy human cried as he saw your little ones. ‘Cute!’

Ludwig understood what you were trying to tell him. He gently picked up your puppies and you watched him. Of course you trusted him, but he still had to be careful with your babies. When he had picked up all of your puppies, he left and you followed him home.

(~ Timeskip, veee! ~)

‘There you go,’ Ludwig smiled as he put a bow with meat in front of you. ‘It’s all we’ve got, but I hope you like it.’

‘Woof,’ you said, happy to be with your owner again. He sat down on the couch and watched as you ate your dinner and fed your puppies.

‘Where have you been all those years...?’ he sighed. ‘I searched for you, but I never found you.’

You didn’t answer, you just walked over to the couch and climbed on it. You rested your head on his lap and sighed. He wrapped his arms around you and buried his face into your (f/c) fur. Ludwig yawned and his eyes slowly closed. As he fell asleep, you decided your puppies could manage themselves for one night. You had to guard your beloved owner.
